North River Music began in 2008.  New Hampshire seacoast area musicians Dan and Vicky  played a 'one time' benefit show together and had so much fun they have been playing their version of acoustically fun and funky covers at venues in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine ever since.   The group plays out as a Duo, Trio as well as a full band.

Singers Vicky Poland and Carolyn Hutton, have been singing in musical groups in the seacoast area for over twenty years.  Carolyn is also an accomplished musician and brings her skill on the mandolin to North River.  As well as singing in North River,  both Vicky and Carolyn also lend their singing talent to another seacoast area group, The Funky Divas of Gospel.

Dan Poland, has been part of the Seacoast music scene for over 40 years. His strong vocals and signature playing on acoustic and electric guitar are at the center of the band. Dan also arranges the music for North River.  Dan not only plays with North River Band, he is currently with The Funky Divas of Gospel. He has founded and played in a number of different NH bands including White Lies, Forecast, and Boca Roca and The Jeannie Daniels Band.

Tom Kesel, bass player and multi instrumental musician, relocated from NYC to seacoast NH in the 1990's. In addition to playing with North River, Tom also sits in with a variety of groups playing many different styles of music.  He was the long time bassist for the Jeannie Daniels Band.  Along with North River, he also plays in the jazz ensemble Now's the Time, the gospel group The Funky Divas and lends his skills to other musical projects in New England.

Pete Leavenworth has been a staple in the seacoast music scene for decades. A lifelong musician, he lends his talents to North River playing pedal steel, dobro and banjo.  He also plays with other area bands including Lunch at the Dump, Mink Hill and Acoustic Radio

Born in Juneau, Alaska, Bob Thibodeau started playing the drums at around age 12 and was in his first rock band at 15.  Playing hand drums, he also joined a large folk group that regularly toured the state of Alaska and has even played above the Arctic Circle!  Since moving to New England in 1984, Bob has played with many local musicians, school musicals at Berwick Academy,  percussion for the NH Fiddle Ensemble and folk groups but has always been looking for a band exactly like North River Music.  Bob is also thrilled to be a part of the Funky Divas!
